These binoculars are white light filters that do a great job of showing sun spots, and transits across the surface of the sun. If you get the timing right you'll be able to see the space station or Mercury or Venus highlighted against the bright backdrop of our local star.
Solar binoculars are also excellent tools for viewing solar eclipses with a bit of magnification. We've had a lot of fun testing [read: playing with] different solar binoculars. These three pairs are the cream of the crop, we recommend them wholeheartedly.
