Product Description

In 1668, Sir Isaac Newton invented the first reflector telescope. By using mirrors instead of optical lenses, Newton was able to increase the aperture of his telescope while reducing the overall size of the tube, leading to brighter views of the night sky. The Heritage 150 pays homage to this design by honouring some of the great astronomers throughout history: Galileo, Messier, Kepler, Newton, among others. By using a lightweight 150mm parabolic primary mirror and a compact, manual azimuth mount, the Heritage 150 is the perfect blend of portability and aperture, just as Newton intended.

Collecting 363% more light than the human eye and 44% more light than the 130mm model, the Heritage 150 uses the same optics as our Classic 150P Dobsonian, but at a fraction of the size and cost. Each mirror is constructed of durable borosilicate glass with our signature Radiant Aluminum Quartz (RAQ)coating. The optical tube uses a unique system that allows it to be collapsed for easy portability and storage while retaining collimation. If you're looking for a grab-and-go travel telescope that delivers a bold, full size viewing experience, look no further than the Heritage 150.

Its lightweight azimuth base uses Teflon bearings for smooth, accurate slewing and has an altitude locking knob for steady viewing. The base also features skid resistant, vibration suppressing rubber feet, offering a stabilized view while allowing the telescope to be setup virtually anywhere with minimal vibration, making this telescope the perfect camping companion.

Sky-Watcher Heritage 150P

It has been two weeks and unfortunately I have only been able to make use of my new telescope twice. Here in Manitoba, forest fire smoke, thunderstorms and cloud cover and been my greatest challenge! The two times I have used my new 150P have been truly eye opening experiences! I've focused (no pun intended) on the moon so I can get accustomed to the telescope and eyepieces and my next target (on a clear night) is M31 Andromeda and I am completely confident it will be a great experience! The telescope was very easy to assemble, is light and very portable. It is well made of quality materials. I would highly recommend it to new astronomers!
When I purchased the telescope, I also bought a Televue 32mm Plossl eyepiece and it is true that the addition of a quality eyepiece is a worthwhile investment. The improvement is very evident. Once I am more familiar with the scope, I will definately be adding eyepieces but one step at a time!
Thanks to All-Star telescope for their direction and assistance! Great people to work with!

It’s a very good telescope. Gives a great picture. The moon is perfectly visible even in slightly cloudy weather and with city lights.
I would recommend it for purchase.

Solid

Got a nice view of Saturn with a 9mm eyepiece I bought and so far the 25mm eyepiece is good for closer celestial objects. No complaints so far. I like how portable this unit is.
