Triple APOD - August 22, 2024: A Cost Effective Andromeda Galaxy by Joshua Schirmaier

Astrophotography certainly has the potential to be a very expensive hobby, but it doesn't have to be that way! The Rokinon/Samyang 135mm f/2.0 in particular has been a favourite of astrophotographers for some time now, thanks to its excellent optical quality and affordable price. Paired with a DSLR and a small mount or star tracker like Joshua has done here, great results can be obtained with a very low barrier for entry! The Andromeda Galaxy is also probably the most photographed deep space object, thanks to its very large apparent size and naked eye visibility.
