Perfect Newtonian Alignment

Over the years, I've tried a number of collimating tools. At first, it was a home built cheshire eyepiece. This worked ok, but I was never quite sure and the start tests didn't inspire cnfidence either.
Then I tried a cheap, non adjustable import device. I liked the concept, but when rotating the tool, it was abusrdly out of alignment with itself. The titled reflecting surface, like the cheshire, made it difficult to determine the proper adjustment of the mirrors as well, since the scales were all distorted.
A friend mentioned the Baader. He wasn't quite able to explain why he liked it so much. I can: The flat screen allows for linear adjustment of the mirrors, which makes it easy to determine which **** to twist. The laser comes aligned with itself, spot on. Diffractions spikes and perfect planetary views out of the box! If the view is off after cllimating with this, pay attention to your seeing.

Hiighly recomended.

MkIII laser collimator

I’m a first time user of this product and a first time user with the 8” Orion telescope so this is from the heart. Heavy and well made, crisp dot, easy to use, I found the unit works perfectly in darker conditions, however outside in the blazing sunlight, it can be challenging to see the red dot on that level grid. I would recommend this product.
