Baader Planetarium Bino Auxillary-Ring for Adaptation of MaxBright® II - 2458272

2458272

  • Maxbright II Bino rotation lock/auxillary-ring – for the shortest possible adaptation of the Maxbright II Bino directly onto all Baader T-2 star diagonals.
  • The adaptation via the M34-thread of the Maxbright II Bino is especially suited for telescopes with f/10 or slower, to directly screw the binoviewer onto the star diagonal
  • This direct connection does not leave room for a Baader glasspath-corrector, but the shorter optical length may be just short enough to not needing a glasspath-corrector at all
  • The T-2 Locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (#2458271) is required for this adaptation
  • This auxillary-ring allows the changing of the interpupillar distance without moving the locking ring

Product Description

Shortest possible Adaptation without Glasspath Corrector

In combination with telescopes with long focal lengths (f/10 or slower), it may be interesting to attach the binoviewer via its M34-thread directly onto the T-2 star diagonal. Then, you can keep it in place with T-2 Locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (#2458271)

This is the shortest possible adaptation of the Diamond Steeltrack® S58 to T-2 BDS-Adapter (#2957202) - very compact, and protected from "accidental removal".

The shortest possible adaptation can be achieved with the Baader Prism Diagonal T-2/90° 32mm (#2456005)

This direct connection does not leave room between bino and T-2 star diagonal to take up a Baader glasspath-corrector, but on the other hand - the shorter optical length of the combo may be just short enough to not needing a glasspath-corrector at all - so it is well worth a try. Still the Bino may not bottom out in the right position when fully threaded in while using the described male/female M34 threads. For this reason a dedicated T-2 Locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (#2458271) is available. This T-locking-ring will be threaded "upward" against the body of the Maxbright II, to prevent the Bino from unintended rotation and most of all to prevent it to fall off.

For this short adaptation, you need the T-2 Locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (#2458271) and Bino auxillary-ring. Remove the T-2 counter nut or the Zeiss dovetail ring vfrom the binoviewer. Then screw the Locking Ring onto the male thread of the T-2-prism and put the auxillary ring between binoviewer and locking ring. The raised surface of the slip ring should face towards the binoviewer and the flat one towards the star diagonal. Now screw the binoviewer onto the prism and fix it in the desired position with the locking ring. The slip ring lets you still set the interpuoillar distance.

If the handle of the locking ring ends up in an uncomfortable position, you can change its position. It is only screwed into the ring, you can put it into any of the three threaded holes which are all around the locking ring, each 120° apart.
