A very hard rock. Often the nodules are naturally bumpy. This required many weeks of tumbling even with prior smoothing. Imo these agates present better when they are cut. In many cases the bands will not be visible on the surface. I was lucky enough to get a waterline Botswana agate. They look very different.
I have purchased a rock tumbler (Lortone 45C), some filler, some grit and some rocks. All came fast, and the rocks are in the tumbler now. Ordering was easy, delivery was quick and not too expensive.

The agates are a good size for the 3 lb tumblers. They are in their 3rd week of #1 grit (I'm quite picky about leaving pits) and are showing some very nice patterns.
