Triple APOD - June 28, 2025: Horsehead Nebula & Orion Nebula (B33 & M42) By Ray Wiens
This image was taken with an Askar FRA300 and ZWO AM5n. Ray has also kindly offered his own thoughts/review of the AM5n mount:
"The new ZWO AM5n mount performed flawlessly during the first 14 nights I have used this mount. Over the past 15 years i have used various mounts; this one out shines them all by a wide margin. It guides accurately; it is light and yet it can carry a heavy load; it sets up quickly and when you hit slew it goes to what you entered every single time. The cable management that comes with the mount is very helpful reducing the clutter of wires. It is unquestionably an outstanding mount!
I also purchased the carbon fibre tripod and the extension tube. They are necessary. It is clear that they too are well made as well as the mount head. The ZWO AM5n package is a great foundation for astrophotography. If you are looking for a new mount, don't hesitate to buy this one; it is an investment, you will not be disappointed."
