Now equipped with Lunt’s newer, higher-performing etalons, these telescopes deliver a tighter ≤0.35Å FWHM per etalon, improved from the previous ~0.55Å design. In double-stack configuration, system bandwidth drops to approximately 0.22Å for even greater contrast and finer solar surface detail.

The LS60MT Double Stack Premium Kit combines Lunt's universal day/night platform with sub-half-angstrom H-alpha performance. The front-mounted LS50FHa Double Stack filter adds a second tilt-tuned etalon ahead of the pressure-tuned internal module, reducing system bandpass to <0.50Å and dramatically increasing chromospheric contrast.

Two independently-tuned etalons working together reveal surface structure and Doppler detail that single-stack systems cannot resolve. The pressure-tuned internal module provides instant Doppler shifting across the entire field, while the front-mounted tilt-tuned etalon adds the additional bandpass narrowing that makes double-stack views so compelling.

At <0.50Å through 60mm of aperture, the chromosphere comes alive with structure invisible at wider bandwidths. Plage boundaries sharpen into defined cellular networks. Filaments resolve into multi-strand structures with complex internal detail. Active regions reveal the full depth of their magnetic architecture. Prominences show threading, flow, and structural evolution from base to tip. By night, remove the solar module and double-stack filter and you still have a premium 70mm f/6 ED doublet refractor.
